Insights from Raffaello Ramon, Sales Director at Omipa
How is the extrusion market evolving? Which segments are growing ā and which are slowing down? And how is Omipa positioning itself in this changing landscape?
In this market update, Raffaello Ramon, Sales Director at Omipa, shares his perspective on 2025 results, the start of 2026, and the strategic direction for the months ahead.
A Strong Start to 2026
Looking back at 2025, I can say it was a positive year for us. Even more encouraging is the way 2026 has begun ā confirming that the strategies we put in place are moving in the right direction.
We opened the year with the sale of two extrusion plants ā a strong signal that sets the tone for the months ahead.
Growing Demand in Key Applications
We are seeing solid demand for extrusion lines dedicated to high optical PC sheets, as well as PP and PC hollow profiles.
These applications continue to attract interest wherever quality, efficiency and reliability make the difference.
The focus is clearly on performance-driven solutions, where process stability and long-term productivity are essential competitive factors.
Expanding Presence in the Americas
Our presence in North and South America is also growing steadily. We have invested time and resources in these markets, and today we are seeing concrete results. The potential is still significant, and we are committed to strengthening our position even further.
In line with our international focus, I will be attending CHINAPLAS 2026 together with Emanuele Cazzani.
We will be delighted to welcome you at our stand to discuss ongoing projects, exchange ideas and explore new opportunities. After the exhibition, we will take a closer look at the insights gathered to better understand emerging trends and where the market is heading.
A Market Moving at Different Speeds
Not all sectors are moving at the same speed. The packaging industry, for example, is currently experiencing a slowdown, mainly due to the shift away from plastic toward alternative preservation solutions ā and the recycling segment is temporarily feeling the impact as well.
These dynamics reflect broader transformations within the materials and sustainability landscape, influencing investment decisions across the supply chain.
However, thanks to our diversified portfolio and strategic approach, we look at 2026 with confidence. The market is evolving ā and so are we.
