Our history

1963

OMIPA was founded in September 1963 by Gilberto Cazzani in Morazzone, in the province of Varese, near Milan, Italy.

Meaning

Omipa stands for:
OfficinaĀ MeccanicaĀ ImpiantiĀ Plastici eĀ Affini.

Start up

The Company was born as a small mechanical workshop and a machine-shop, producing plastic processing accessories such as extrusion dies, calendering systems and downstream equipment.

1970

In the 1970s, we introduced our first 3-roll vertical calender with three independent motors, a groundbreaking solution designed to achieve exceptional optical quality.

1971

Omipa developed its very first extrusion line: the Hollow Profile PPĀ  with a useful width of 2000 mm.

Development

Omipa soon extended its activity to the design and construction of complete installations for the production of sheet, foil, film and hollow profile in different thermoplastic materials.

1973

We were the first to develop an extrusion line for the extrusion of PC hollow profiles, in close partnership with our customers, based on the experience built up in the PP hollow profile field.

1991

We developed the 1st PC foil line for low thicknesses. This optical grade was designed for electrical protection applications

2001

Omipa developed the 1st PP hollow profile line in width 3200 mm.

2013
