Interview with Mr. Josly Pereira

1. Mr. Pereira, could you introduce yourself and tell us about your role as an Omipa representative?

I am Josly Pereira founder & CEO of M/S. VULCAN POLYPRINT INDIA, who are in the business of selling Plastic Extrusion machinery, Printing and Converting machinery for over 30 years in India.

I am an experienced Plastic machinery-industry professional with techno commercial background.

I have vast experience in the capital machinery industry with a strong background in the sales and marketing of Plastic extrusion machinery, Printing machinery and Converting machinery for over 30 years. Over the years, I have worked extensively in the Indian market.

This experience has given me a good understanding of the Plastics, Packaging and Converting industry , as well as the technical and commercial considerations involved when customers invest in production machinery.

Today my objective as OMIPA’s partner in India is to build long-term relationships with customers, provide strong local support, and bring OMIPA’s Italian engineering and extrusion expertise closer to the Indian market. For me the opportunity is to combine OMIPA’s Italian engineering expertise with my experience and understanding of the Indian market and build long-term relationships with customers based on trust, technology and sustainability.

OMIPA offers wide range of sheet extrusion machinery for PC, PMMA, PP, PET, PETG, ABS etc. I am focussed on bringing sophisticated latest technology from OMIPA to Indian customers.

Having worked in this industry for many years, I understand that a machinery investment is a long-term decision. Customers need more than good equipment—they need reliable advanced technology, technical support, responsiveness and a partner who understands their business.

I focus on understanding the customer’s application and production requirements and developing the right technical solution, followed by local support throughout the project.

2. From your point of view, what are the main opportunities and challenges of the Indian market for extrusion technologies today?

I see India has a very promising market for extrusion machinery with worldclass technology. There is strong growth in packaging, automotive, construction and technical applications. At the same time, industry is moving towards higher productivity, better quality, sustainability and increasingly use of recycled materials.

In India, I have had the privilege of seeing the Plastic and Packaging industry evolve over the years, from conventional machinery to much automated, efficient and high technology driven solutions.

Today I see tremendous opportunity in the industry particularly in automation,  productivty, recycling, sustainability and value added packaging. There is continuous investment in modern and high-capacity extrusion machinery for PC, PMMA, PP Sheet lines particularly in packaging, construction, architectural applications.

India stands a very good opportunity for OMIPA extrusion machinery because the market is growing and customers are increasingly looking for high-end worldclass technology , higher productivity, better quality and sustainable solutions using recycled materials. Indian  customers are showing more interest in using post-consumer recycled (PCR) and post-industrial recycled (PIR) materials. In this tegard OMIPA’s superior technology has an edge over other conventional machinery.

The challenge is that India is highly price sensitive and competitive. Therefore we have to sell on value by demonstrating productivity, energy efficiency, quality, reliability, longevity and total cost of ownership.

3. How will Omipa’s permanent presence in India benefit customers in the region, both from a commercial and a relationship standpoint?

OMIPA’s permanent presence in India will be a strong positive for Indian customers, providing closer relationships, faster communication, stronger technical support and quicker access to service and spare parts. It will increase customer confidence in OMIPA as a long-term technology partner rather than just an equipment supplier. Commercially, the local presence can strengthen OMIPA’s competitiveness and support more business opportunities and long-term customer relationships in India.

Having a local agent in India, is a major advantage for OMIPA in terms of customer support. Indian customers  highly value quick feedback, prompt problem-solving, and continuous after-sales service. Therefore, a local agent who can communicate directly with customers plays a very important role.

As far as relationship is concerned, a special mention about the dynamic leadership of Mr Fabio Cazzani ( CEO), whose humble, approachable and customer friendly qualities and personality, aligns well with Indian customers, fostering strong rapport, trust and lasting relationships.

Ultimately, OMIPA’s commitment shows they are invested in the Indian market for the long term, which gives Indian  customers confidence, reliability and trust in OMIPA over other suppliers.
